virtual dub: MPEG Import Filter: pack synchronization error?

hi everyone
i've burned some mpeg 2 files in data form
and when i was trying to watch it on my dvd player, some of them played smoothly but some of them just played very "bumpy"
when i tried to open those mpeg2 video w/ virtual dub
this error occurs:
"MPEG Import Filter: pack synchronization error"
but when i use virtual dub to open some other mpeg2 file, they r fine

do i have to convert the file? and if i do, any suggestion for a programme beside tmpgenc? bcoz i've tried using it to convert mpeg2 to mpeg2 and the quality difference is quite visible

Are you using the MPEG-2 mod of Virtual Dub?
