put the vob which contains the clip you want into dvd2avi and use the [ key to mark the begining and the ] key to mark the ending of the clip and save project.
in the information file you will find 2 numbers (with letters) at the side of LOCATION, this is the start and end of your clip.
these numbers are HEX, so open your windows calc in scientific mode and tick HEX and type in your start number then press DEC, write down that number then do the same for the second number.
open vstrip (freeware) and load your vob, where it says start lba and end lba type you start and end numbers(the ones you last wrote down) then go to the output tab and give it a name and location you want it saving and press run.
you will have the perfect clip of that vob.

thanks a lot....ive noticed that you know a lot and give a lot of good help.....quick question will this produce a vob of the section, or an m2v & ac3 file, and if it does produce a small vob, what is the best method (or program) for demuxing it? thank a lot!

i just tried tried it with a couple diff clips, and what happens is that the last second of time is completely empty.....so say if it was a 6 sec clip at 5 sec it jumps straight to 6......do you know why - thanks!

no idea why it misses like that, the only thing different i have done before is i got the m2v file by using vobedit.
you can also use vobedit to demux the audio aswell so it might be worth having a go to get the video and audio demuxed through vobedit.
btw, the numbers where correct.
