  2. Your using 1 cd too much. LOTR TT fits on 4 CD's. What bitrate did you use?

  5. which 2520 CBR you will only be able to fit 35 min. no a CD. You have to use a lower bitrate. You have to use VBR with a avg. bitrate of 2192.

    btw, i dont have ICQ.

  7. wut encoder are you using? If TMPGenc, 2-pass VBR. If CCE then use 4-pass VBR. The quality loss will be small. Use a avg. bitrate of 2192 a min. bitrate of 600 and a max of 2520.

  8. so is this wat everybody does to keep the cd to 4 instead of 5?

  9. Yes, the majority of people use VBR for SVCD's. With VBR you can fit more on a CD, while keeping great quality. VBR uses higher bitrates (up the maximum that you set) for high action demanding scenes, and lower bitrates for low action still scenes. Thus, you dont waste bits and get good quality. Try to use the settings i recommended, you sould get excellent results.

Just remember, CDs are dirt cheap. Who really cares if it takes one, or even 10 discs, longer?

But yes, VBR can make files smaller than CBR. Also use 44.1 audio with 192k bitrates, and video bitrates of 2520, and you'll be fine. Open your GOPs too on CD (close them for DVD). Maybe extend your I/P/B in the GOP settings. All makes a size difference.
