I am trying to save the wav file of a movie but when I tr to launch it from virtual dub it says it couldnt locate decompressor for format MP43. Virtual Dub needs a video for windows compatible codec to decompress video, Direct Show codecs such as those used by windows media player are not suitable.
I have used Gspot to see what codec is required and it says the codec is installed. I can see the movie fine in Windows Media Player so why can't I use Virtual Dub?
Thanks

I am assuming you are trying to convert an avi file. Go to www.divx-digest.com. In the software section under codecs download the avifourcc changer. It will allow you to change the codec to a divx codec. Just load the film and in the fourcc description and fourcc used windows, select divx. This may help.

I have tried what you said, but it doesn't seem to have helped. I still cannot load the avi. Have you any other ideas?
Thanks
