You'll have to be more specific. What programs did you use? What procedure did you use? What does "all messed up" mean?

ok
i used TMPGEnc
and i made a ntscfilm non standard vcd/xvcd with a bitrate of 1210 and audio bitrate of 160 and at 44100
and i framserverd the vieo from vdub
the movie is gangs of new york and the audio is like not in synch at all with the video

Okay. Did you scan for bad frames first using Virtualdub?

no
i never do
and the one time i did there was tons of bad frames but no messed up synch audioJordan Ennis -
Yes, sometimes the source has so many bad frames that removing them will wreck it. Unfortunately, leaving them in results in all kinds of problems. The encoder can crash or freeze and/or the resulting mpeg can have the A/V out of sync. Bottom line: Scan and remove the bad frames if you want good results, it's the most likely cause of your problems.
Hope that helps."Art is making something out of nothing and selling it." - Frank Zappa -
Here's a guide for removing those bad frames after you scan with VirtualDub:
