I use virtualdub to cut the divx so it can fit on a 700 MB cd. But i am wondering if the cutting of divx make any differences in the quality of the destination? I mean, will the quality becomes worse due to the cutting? Thanks in advance.

Make sure you have both audio and video set to direct stream copy before saving. If you do, then the cut files will be identical to the original.
