  1. Captured a mpeg 2 file. Was to big ,5 gig. Stripped the sound and video. Re-encoded the video. That's ok but I need to change the mp2 file to ace so it is readable by spruce up... or does Ulead know the difference?
Don't give in to DVD2ONE, that leads to the dark side.

  2. Spruce up will quite happily handle mp2 audio. Howver you must either multiplex it with the video before importing into spruce, or you must use a .mpa file extension.

If you really must convert to .ac3, then use HeadAc3he, available in the tools section.

    Hope this helps.

I assume both give the same results. Which is faster?

Also, the multiplex I can do in Tmpgnc... right. What about the MPA? How do I do that?

mpa, just change the file extension from .mp2 to .mpa

    Multiplex in Tmpgenc, correct.

Faster, well using a .mpa file extension means you don't have to bother with the multiplexing step so if you already have seperate audio and video streams, stick with that.
