    Hi guys,

I have got MMC 8.1, and the others components to install it in my system... but I heard another site that I should install also the catalyst drivers to work!! but this driver is only for RADEON family, which AIW 128 Pro isnt...

Can anyone tell me if I really can use MMC 8.1, with ATICDwiz.exe and DAO/MDAC components with my video card?

  2. AFAIK MMC8.1 is for Radeon cards but there will be another version releasing later for legacy cards.I'm using MMC 7.7.1 and I'm not going to upgrade(if it ain't broke don't fix it).Check here for updates:

I wouldn't install unless you are using a Radeon 7000 or higher.

I have the AIW 64mb card from a few years back and you can use MMC 8.1 with no problems. I haven't upgraded to the new catalyst drivers yet. So far the new MMC is rock solid on my PC, and no sync problems.

the answer to your ? is cat 3.2 needed for mmc 8.1 to run. the answer is no.. i didnt upgrade my drivers until later and it worked fine.. BUT i have older cat drivers loaded.. Im sure you need some version of them for it to work.. i know you need DX9 and a few other new drivers and packs for it to work.. I have the 8500 AIW that is compat with these drivers.. i also have an old aiw 128 that is not compat with the cat drivers so the best i could do with that was mmc 7.5.

I have XP Home, I don't use the MMC for DVD. But so far I captured a three movie in dvd quality with no frames dropped.
