I want to be able to make menu pictures without having to spend hours with a graphic application like psp. What I'm looking for is an application that can take the pictures I have extracted from the movie (with VCDEasy for instance) and insert them into a menu template (like thumbnails), which I then save as an ordinary image and convert to a mpeg still. No need to manually rezise, cut and paste the pictures and insert "hard coded" text. I now use VCDEasy to make my menus and chapters (superb software, I must say :P ).
Have anyone heard of such a program? Please tell me. I have searched this site and the web but without any luck.

Why are you doing all of that converting and re-converting anyway? just take a screen cap, then import it into whatever authoring software that you use.
Also, Nero (among others) will let you use any frame of the movie/clip as a thumbnail in the menu.
I think you have made this more complicated than it is. -
Ok. I get it. But I can't make chapters in Nero. That's why I use VCDEasy. But VCDEasy can't make menu pictures and that's why I have to make them manually.

Why don't you use Ulead Movie Factory!!!! It does support VCD/SVCD/DVD.
You can also import background music.... -
To create such menu pictures I am using the freeware Digital Picture Index Creator Version 0.9.2. You will find this software at http://www.cd2html.de/dpic.en.html.
