  1. I know there is a forum called media, but there must be hundreds if not thousands of posts dealing with the advantages of DVD+R or DVD-R. Even posts that have nothing to do with the debate somehow wind up going to the debate. This deserves its own forum.

Or better yet, how about a forum for GENERAL PISSING CONTESTS?

Here, we could debate DVD- or +, Tsuanmi vs CCE, Intel vs AMD, Ford vs Chevy, Microsoft versus the world, etc.

It's bad enough he does this on the media format, regardless of the topic. He's gonna be hurt to read that.

  6. Has there been debate? I have only seen the wild speculation and subjective opinions.

You are right. I've have yet to see any concrete evidence that supports -R or +R as a better, more compatable format. Its like the cola wars of the 80's. How can one say that coke is better than pepsi (or visa-versa.) Its a matter of personal taste. -R/+R are just slightly different recipes of the same flavor. I'll honestly say that I like both formats, I just like to try to piss off the +R camp for time to time because they really seem to love their +R/+RW drives.

Read the other post regarding formats, I've presented concrete information which shows DVD-R is the stronger of the two formats.

Others have done the same. I'll tell you the REAL answer behind MOST of these people and their DVD+R CRAP. Here's the deal...people want to BELIEVE when they buy something they got a damn good deal and a damn good product, right? OR else they probably wouldn't buy it to begin with. The people that purchased these Pioneer "PLUS" drives were shitting in their pants when SONY busted Pioneer's nuts by coming out with the WORLD'S first MULTI-FORMAT drive. So now all the people like "thxkiddo" who have the PIONEER drive feel BETRAYED and want to believe THEIR DRIVE WON'T BECOME A THING OF THE PAST. WELL, NEWSFLASH!!!....those drives ARE A THING OF THE PAST..JUST LIKE +R will be! It's kind of like a person born with only ONE HAND....they are limited on what they can do. They damn sure won't be playing Patty Cake or giving double high fives to anyone.

Damn, that was cold....lol..anyway, it's true though. These "+" format people are TRYING to CONVINCE THEMSELVES that the + format is better for those reasons. It's JUST like the people with DVD2ONE...they test ONE movie and all of a sudden it's the best product since the microwave. C'mon..that's not fully testing a product...I would of loved to believe that too...but you gotta face reality. Reality is that with those "+R" drives you'd better LOAD UP ON MEDIA NOW...because tomorrow it may NOT be here. SONY'S WORLD'S FIRST BLU-RAY drive doesn't even support the +R format.
That's making a bold STATEMENT with actions. These are the facts, and I know the people with those CRIPPLED, ONE FORMAT drives are feeling hurt right now because THE TRUTH HURTS!
