Can someone explain to me if 430 by 380 resolution is good? Why or why not? I am thinking of buying a dvd off of an aquaintance and want to know if that is good or horrible or what?

In what format?
If it is VCD, SVCD or DVD, then it is NOT a valid resolution and may or may not play in your standalone player. If it is an avi for PC playback, any resolution is valid. -
It's not 1:1 or 4:3 so I'm not sure what your are trying to do. Your Macroblocks aren't multiples of 16 (or even 8) so that eliminates a lot of AVI codecs.
Your source and what your final encode is going to be will dictate your resolution (PC AVI verses Standalone plyer MPG)To Be, Or, Not To Be, That, Is The Gazorgan Plan -
It is actually divX format. I want to get it just so I can perhaps convert it to DVD. But I am not to familiar with formats.
