  1. One of my current projects is to take mine and my sisters' extensive music video collection and put them on DVD.I put my first authored project(using SpruceUp) on a DVD+RW to test it in my player. The problem is that after each video, the disc jumps back to the menu. This is fine for a single movie, but it is very annoying not to have a "Play-All" function built into the menu so I can run all the videos like I would on a tape.Is it possible to get Spruceup to do this, or can I use IFO edit to adjust the IFO to allow the "play-all" function?

what you need to do is set the next play item for each video. By default it play's a video and goes back to the menu because it is programmed for movies and a movie is usually in one file. I'll fire up SpruceUp and have a check though.

The other thing you can do is use an mpeg joiner to join all your video's into one file and set chapter points.

  3. lol, I was the original poster on that other thread.

This is a limitation with SpruceUp, it does not let you set the end of title behavior. So it will always go back to the menu after each title. Pain in the behind, especially since it is such a good app otherwise.

As you could see, I had the same problem in that other thread. The process described works, but I ended up just going to another authoring app which allowed me to do what I wanted. Good luck!

I`ve had the same problem with Ulead DVD MovieFactory 1 , but after trying out the demo for MoveFactory 2 which plays the next video if you set it up that way , I`ll be buying it soon to sort it out for me . This is the cheapish version of the answer (PCWorld £35).Ulead allow you to download a demo , which will cut DVD+R/W , see if that fulfills your needs .

No idea if vcdeasy can handle it , as I`d rather stick spoons in my eyes than try .

The other way is , as Bartman suggested , is to join them (whether its with Tmpgenc Tools or whatever) and then set chapter points . The only suggestion I`d make , is to make your future captured videos Fade (Audio and Video) In and Out - it makes chapter setting a damn sight easier , than maths or fiddling with a slider bar and also looks much better when they are played one after the other .

If you are capturing to an avi you can do Video Fading with VirtualDub with the FrameTweak plugin and Audio Fading when encoding in tmpgenc (if you use that) . I only suggest these , as they are either Free (VDub) or cheap (Tmpgnec) .
Others will suggest Ulead Video Studio and stuff like that , and as most posts end up in a pissing contest of X vs Y products and/or trying to spend lots of money for you , I`ll only ever suggest cheapest/free software that will do the job you require and no more.

The above expresses an opinion , with suggestions and ideas and thats all.

That process actually completely failed for me.In simulation mode, after doing that, I cannot select chapters at all and after the first video, the compilation completely stops. On disc in my standalone, it behaves just like I never touched the IFO files.I will continue to play around and maybe I can discover why that really simple process is failing. At this point, I don't really even need menu's, just random chapter selection like the tracks on an audio CD would be great.
