  1. Bought a pack of 10 Dupez and I'm getting allot of failed verifications with them. Np with princo or ritek though. Last time I ever get "Dup" out of my "Ez" money.

Now that ritek g03 burns at 2x with new firmware patch I don't care for anything else but Ritek.

  4. I've burned threw 50 of the White top DupEZ's on a Pioneer 105 and not one bad disc yet. this was at 2x and 1x. As always, who knows how your DVD burner will deal with them but I've found a diamond in the rough for me.

  8. Someone please explain "verifications" to me, like what it actually means? I see the option to verify when burning with Nero but I have it unchecked. Does it extend the process much longer to verify? And what do the results of verification actually say about the disc?

    Many thanks

  9. If you click it (or choose burn and Verify in some software) then after the DVD is burned the data on it is verified with the data on the HD to make sure they are perfect match. Poor media or media burned faster then it can take will fail to verify.

Sorry, they were the white tops...

I did just back up 8 Mile to one of the Lead Data's and it plays perfectly on my Sony DVP-C660. Haven't tried it yet in the PS2 though...

I also ordered a 10 pack of the Ritek DVD-R 4.7, General, silver top and they also burned perfectly at 2x and played on both my DVD players.

Think I will order the big pack of the Riteks.

ahh..so it looks like Rima is pullin' silly stunts. I mentioned a while back they looked like they were tryin' to pull fast ones on people...but it appeared ONLY the silver tops were LD's. Glad I never used Rima. Just some 411 for your benefit...LD's are good, but try and limit your file size to 4 gigs or less. I would ABSOLUTELY make sure the last five chapters, and last 20 minutes of your movie don't freeze.

That's where those LD's will have the problems. Just FF through the last 20 minutes or so of the movie when you burn it. I found this out and made sure I just burned movies that were DVD-5's on the rest of the LD's I had, and that were under 4 GB's, and I had no problems with that method.

Well, you can't really blame RIMA for this as they are selling them under the name "DupEZ"

lol..I'm not "blaming" anyone...i'm saying that I'll stick to the same place I've been getting my SONY ACCU's from and not bother trying RIMA.

I said Rima is pullin' a fast one and they are. You think people that read about these DUPEZ DVD blanks from Rima purchased them because they were LEAD DATA's? Not quite..they bought them because they were under the impression they would get SONY and ONLY SONY. As I said...Rima pulled silly stunts there...and as long as I keep getting my SONY disks...i'm good to go.

  18. Who does the actual packaging of the spindles, the reseller or the distributor they get the media from? I don't know for sure one way or the other, but I would THINK that they simply open boxes of shrink-wrapped spindles and turn around and resell them.

Rima was kind enough to send me out some FREE samples of several of their media that they do not offer in their sampler packs. I requested some of these white top DupEZ, I'll test them in DVDInfo and post back.

  19. I've ordered a 10 pack of both silver and whites. The silvers were all LD and the whites were all SONY. I don't have a problem with either. They both burn all the way to the edge without any problems.

  20. Rima best get on the horse and get those back in stock! I like my BeAll's, but those are half the price!
