I want to make a Mpeg 1 compliant video that will load into Movie Factory without the need for re-encoding

I would like it so that Movie factory will except as an Mpeg 1 and just convert the audio to 48khz and then write it to a DVD, I have tried VCD and MF goes thro the full conversion

Did you select same system as the source in MF? NTSC(29,976 fps) or PAL(25.fps), if you change from NTSC to PAL or vice versa will MF reeencode.

Is the mpeg1 resolution within the dvd standard? 352x240 or 352x288

If it is NTSC film(23,976 fps) then will mf reencode cause it is not a valid mpeg1 dvd.

Use MF to check the source info when adding the mpeg.
