NEW Phillips CD-I?????

The other day I was at my vet clinic getting my dog checked up and I noticed a t.v. showing a slideshow on what appeared to be a dvd player (all black with a led, like most of them do) and on the led said cd-i. Then I saw the sticker that said in big letters NEW Phillips cd-i player. Is cd-i making a come back or something? the model number is cdi-220 for anyone who may have seen this player
