  1. Help needed:
Hi. I've encountered a problem when playing (and frame serving) a Xvid video with VirtualDub: there was no audio. The program didn't recognise the audio compression format (which was 48kHz, 2 channel stereo), and though I coundn't even save it into *.wav format.
It seems not to be a codec problem, because I can view the video in WMedia player or MicroDVD, in wich the audio is O.K. (after installing Xvid).
How can I fix the problem, or how can extract the audio file, to frame serve the video to TMPGEnc?
    Thanks,
    Nuno

  2. If VDub itself cant process the sound, open the file with the VirtualDub Mod (www.doom9.org) and try it with that .
That one should be able to handle it . Save the audio as wav (before checking what it really IS with abc AVI Tag Editor so that you know what you need to convert it) and then convert it to wav with an appropriate tool . The PCM wav file you can open and process with TMPGEnc .

    Jan .
If, in a forest with noone in it, a tree fell, and it struck a mime, would anybody care ?
