  1. Ok...everything I know about video conversions I learned from this site. I have sucessfuly encoded many vcd's and svcd's but now im onto something new.

I bought a Hauppauge WinTv card so now im trying to encode some TV shows.

As of now...I use the WinTv program or VirtualDub to capture the *.avi Each time they 22 minutes of video turns out to be about 800 mb. I then use Sonic Foundry Stream Anywhere to encode it into either a windows media file or an *.rm file no matter how i do it, the 22 minute show ends up being DECENT quality and about 80mb. I know this is a pretty good conversion factor but im looking for better. Ive seen the same show encoded at Better quality as .*rm files but only about 35.9mb HOW DO YOU DO IT? Anyone can help me, itll be great.

Give me program names, anything....I just need to know

  2. As a Real Media File, you don't have many options! You download Real Media Encoder/Composer and compress the AVI file according to the bit rate you want. So, you select a bit rate, a frame size and the number of frames per second. There is no other mystery to .rm files.
