Now this is a really weird problem. I dont know if anyone here can help, but i like this forum, so here goes:

Today i networked my laptop to my main pc. For a bit of fun, i decided to install Delta force 2 on both machines (not had this game out for a while) so i could play a muliplayer game (my laptop's only got 8MB graphics, so it wont support new games, just thought it would be a laugh). installed fine on both machines. Now, for whatever reason, the game would not set up the LAN match. I tried again later, and the laptop would not read the CD. It tries to autorun, then fails. It is the same with any other CD, music or CD rom (real, not CD-r's).

If i click on the icon in 'my computer' (i still preferred file manager, but this is not the time to complain about that ) it says something like 'the disk may not be formatted, or is a form not supported by windows'.

Fine, so i have f****d up the DVD drive on my laptop, i thought. Then, to add perhaps a small amount of false hope, i discovered it will play DVD's fine. I put in a DVD, and it autoloads in mediaplayer, and plays fine.

Have tried turning the machgine off, using XP's restore point, and swearing at it loudly, but nothing works.

Any help or pointers as to where i might get some help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers
