I've downloaded QTReader for TMPGEnc, but after encoding my .mpg (SVCD) file is not audible - no sound... I'm trying to convert MARTIX: RELOADED trailers (QT6). What is wrong or what I can change... HELP!

  2. More than likely the audio is encoded (a lot of quicktime movies have encoded audio for some reason). You might have to generate a seperate wav file with total recorder (see the guides to left under convert).

I had a similar problem with the Animatrix. The first one encoded fine, the 2nd one had no audio.

  3. quick question.. when you played the QT MOV file thru the QT player, what happened?? did you get audio? if you didnt then you have your answer right there, as the needed audio codec is not installed. (btw, it is possible to have a true, normal QT6 installation and not have _all_ the audio codecs that are in use by everyone creating QT MOVies. yes, I know that sounds obvious to most, but it's non-intuitive to new users).

if you did hear audio then it gets a bit more complicated.. it could be that the QTReader for TMpgEnc just cant handle that format (though I've converted a lot of MOVs and never had that problem). also, go back re-check to make sure you didn't have the TMpgEnc options set incorrectly.

Got it! I've registered QuickTime and extracted audio track to .wav file. Opened .mov file in TMPGEnc and audio took from .wav file. Encoded .mpg file is O.K.!

    Thanx to all participating...
