i was able to get ffmpegx to produce output of my one minute test video in the right place and it looks/sounds good. i tried burning the .img files in toast cd-rom xa mode but my dvd player says "disc read error". i have burned vcds using toasts video cd option and playing them in my dvd player no problem. mmb will not recognize my usb iomega cdrw. is the problem with my dvd player? if it plays vcds shouldnt it also play svcds?
thanks for the help, im getting closer!!!
still cant get 42 to work at all.

Check on the DVD player page on vcdhelp.com
Not all VCD players play SVCD.
I spent $500 on a Panasonic Q just for SVCDs [and it just came out about a year ago] and it wont play them.
Bummer.
