Unless your movie is less than 80 mins, you are going to want to use VBR. Always set your min relatively low, about 300-500. Always set your max around 2500kbits (2778 - audio bitrate.) From there I'd say most people use an avg between 1800kbits and 2300kbits. Just use a bitrate calcualtor to determine the avg to use and shoot for between 50-55 mins per disk. Very smooth movies you could fit up to 60 or even 65 mins.
