    my manual says it cannot play "non standardized discs-so how can i get around this to use TPMGEnc to change svcd to vcd format to play on my machine.

    First of all, search the DVD list of VCDhelp.com just to read the reports for your player. It might say that won't play -X- but that isn't neccessary true.
