  1. I have an ATI AIW 8500DV and a Sony DRU500A burner. I want to capture a 2 hour and 8 minute concert from VHS onto a Single DVD. I have a multitude of Capture/Conversion/Edit/Burning Software, I just don't know which is best and what settings to use. I captured the concert in DVD Mpeg format and then dragged it into Ulead DVD moviefactory 2.0 and it said the DVD was over the limit, I guess my question is how would I re-encode the Mpeg file to be smaller and fit on one DVD?

    Thanks

Break out the old bitrate calculator. Input one DVD disk, two hours, eight minutes duration. It will tell you what bitrate to use to burn your disk at.

Don't give in to DVD2ONE, that leads to the dark side.

First, (In the project settings) make sure the "do not covert compliant mpeg files" box is NOT checked. Go to change mpeg settings - customize - compression. Play with the video data rate (8000 is max) until it shows that your video will fit. Each time you change the rate, select ok - ok and iyou will see the size update at the bottom of the window. Hope this helps.
