Hi. I hope I am in the right forum here. If not, sorry... I copied a DVD that I already had (Super Troopers) to a DVD-R to play around with my new burner and standalone player. When I went to play the burned copy in my standalone player or on my PC in either the burner or DVD-ROM drive, a message came up saying that this disk is not formatted to play in this region. Hmm....
The original copy played fine, but how did the region get messed up when trying to copy it?? I have also made copies of other DVD's I already have a this is the first time I have had a problem.
Any ideas??? I used DVD Decrypter to copy the files to my hard drive and Instant-Copy to shrink it and to burn to a DVD-R.
Thanks,
CMSurfer

Nobody has any ideas??? I tried to copy another backup DVD and I had the same problem. So far I had one with the region error, one good copy, and now anther one with the same error message. "This disk is not formatted to play in this region."
Anyway I'm trying to burn another copy of the last one to see if that works. I also tried to find any region-free programs for my burner or DVD-ROM drive (Sony DRU-500AX) and no luck there. The two or three I tried did not work. As far as I know, there is no region-free hack for my Mintek DVD-1600 either.
Thanks for any replies...
