  1. I have this movie (won't say the name of it here because it's still in theatres, I have paid to see it and I will get the dvd when it comes out and any extended versions after it) that wouldn't play at all until I got an XviD codec. The problem is that now that I have it, there are a couple of times during playback on my media player that it will freeze and crash the media player. It only happens at 2 specific points during the movie. What happens is the sound keeps trailing off, but the picture becomes pixelated and the color goes screwy and then it crashes. If I re-open the file, I can watch it directly AFTER that short point, but that's it. I just want to know if anyone knows from experience why this is happening and if this will become a problem during encoding? I have burned a small sample SVCD that works and everything, but the picture is jittery and the sound is off by maybe half a second, to a second. Does anyone know what the problem might be? I hope I've explained my problem clearly enough, if any more details are needed, I'll provide them. I did try to look this up myself, but I had no luck. I'd appreciate any help. Thanks in advance.

    Peace

  3. the movie simply has bad frames in it, there are plenty of good guides on how to delete these frames so you can encode the film.

however I downloaded an xvid codec called alpha from Kazaa that plows through bad frames in films, you might want to search this out..

    I have the same problem.
Virtualdub & any other program freeze & get an error in some specific part of Episode 2 2nd CD, it's always the exact same part. Is it supposed to be just a bad frame?, how can I "JUMP" that frame?
