  1. I have many MP3 and movie fles stored on my hard drives. I want to use DVD-RW as backup so that they do not take up all of my hard drive space. Am using a pioneer 105 in usb 2.0 enclosure and have latest nero. I can archive data files to dvd with no problem but have not been able to copy, simply copy, MP3' and or movie files to DVD for archival purposes. Any suggestions at all out there? Thanks

  2. HI!
Help me out would ya please...
You have an external USB 2.0 enclosure for Pioneer 105 4x DVD burner
Tell me what is max speed U have burned with
Who makes the enclosure (or shat info do U have on the enclosure if not the make and model).
How do you feel about the performance of the burner.

  3. i do not know the brand of the usb enclosure, but one can put either 3 1/2 or 5 inch drive in it. i got it for about $50.

i am using generic dvd-rw so speed is only 1x

105 rated at 4x on cd-r if disk rated for that.

cendyne sells same pioneer as their model 105. i got it at office max for 239 with 50 rebate. make sure it is the 4x model as they also have the 104 at 2x

I believe Nero has the InCD SW, that needs to be configured to just copy and paste to a CD/DVD, the media needs to be formatted by the InCD sw. I am using Roxio's "Drag to Disc" but Nero's InCD is effectively the same thing. You should make sure that you have the InCD sw updated to the latest and greatest version as well as all other the Nero components. Latest Firmware and Drivers and SW often solve these problems.
    Cendyne/Pioneer 105 & 104 with a Dazzle* Hollywood DV-Bridge.

  6. Sort of related, but here's a question:

Is there any way to put data on a dvd (mp3's) and play it in a dvd player that supports mp3 playback and have it recognize the mp3's? Maybe some special options you need to activate in the burning properties to 'trick' the dvd player into thinking it's a regular cdr? Just curious!

Totaly unrelated question, but the answer is you can simply create a DVD-ROM with MP3 files and play them on the DVD (if it can do it). I have made DVD ROMS (UDF/ISO) with NERO that contain VCD, SVCD, MP3 and even Jpeg images and they could all be played on the DVD player.
The more I learn, the more I come to realize how little it is I know.
