  1. Good morning to all...

I lucked out this morning just surfing and stumbled upon a new version of Chatwalker's DVD2DVD-R. It is version 1.4.0 and is available at

    www.dvd2dvd-r.de

I am testing it now. It has some new options I fully don't understand yet, but I wanted to get the news out. I will post results later.

The download link is on the left side. You have to register for the site first. It took me a while to register, because my German is nil as well.

Try world.altavista.com. It will help translate the web page for you. I am not sure if you will be able to complete the registration process, but it should give you help.

  4. Early Feedback...

Audio is still out of sync. I used the following options.

    Progressive Frames = True
    Linear Quantizer = False
    ZigZag Scanning = True
    Upper Field First = True

    Force Film = True
    2:3 Pulldown = True

    Quantizer Characteristics = 10
    GOP Sequence M=3 N/M=5

Source is an NTSC DVD of Chasing Amy

I am going to play a little bit more... I will let you know when I have more feedback.

  5. I am successfully registered to the site and downloaded the newest file of DVD2DVR v1.40 even I am not a German. It took only 2 minutes to register, check email for access password, and get back the site to download the file. A translator is totally not necessary!!!

I'll show you here how to: (those are not German-reading people)

    1. Get to the site www.dvd2dvd-r.com
    2. Click on Downloads link on the left.
    3. You'll see a message. Just click on a small hyperlink "hier" in the message.
    4. It'll lead you to registration site. Just create your ID name for the site (Benutzername) and enter your email where you will receive an access password (eMail). These two data-input areas are bold fonts (those are the only requirements for the registration). Then, click the "neuer Benutzer" button to submit your info.
    5. Wait for 1 minute. Then, check your mail. Copy the provided password for the site.
    6. Get back to the site www.dvd2dvd-r.com; Click on the link "ANMELDEN" on the top left, and enter your created name and provided password that you just copied. Click Login. You then will be logged into the site.
    7. Click on Downloads link on the left again.
    8. You'll see two links. The left is for the manual. The right is the actual file of the program.

I hope this will help someone who does not speak nor read German like myself can get the newest file of the program. You don't even need a translator.

  7. Any idea if they were able to fix the problem with NTSC authoring?
Or was that a problem with authoring in IfoEdit via DVD2DVDR?

If I am out of line here I apologize

  8. Not sure but I tried 1.4.0 and it tries replacing about 20 system files anyway I got audio outta synch by about 2 mins or so. I give up with this one. BTW, it'll torture your dvd-rom to death to. If you plan on using this you should rip to .iso and mount that .iso and hope dvd2dvd-r accepts that as the source.

  11. @mrbass:

I did it again with different email address for the registration at the site and they sent me another working access password. I don't know if you entered your email with correct spelling. Sometimes, you typed too fast and missed something in the email address so made it invalid???

Anyway, you might download the file from different sites now as shown above.

    Out.
