sammie, don't worry about it. The settings do work in 2.64, and 2.66. I have no idea if they work that way in this new basic version. I never use the half options, or the dvd compliant, simply because everything I feed to CCE is already set via AVISynth.

Open your AVS script (are you using an AVS script?) in VirtualDub, and check out it's properties. I've done simple mistakes like getting the input resolution wrong. It's an easy way to check. I wish the CCE display would show input resolution, and output resolution in the main display.

It's bizarre that your MPEG header is off. Are you on the same version that Lamont is using?
Impossible to see the future is. The Dark Side clouds everything...

  2. @DJRumpy, Yes avisynth scripts, bicubic resize. I'll try the VDub trick, but I just have a standard script that I use and just comment lines out. Plus, It's one I know worked with CCE 2.5 unadulterated and TMPEGenc.

The pictures (except for the 352x176) have been excellent quality.

Actually DVD compliant off, half D1 off and frameserved at the correct size lastnight worked???? Was sure that was the first thing I tried, but at this point have to assume that my settings were off somewhere, best guess based on what I see now is DVD compliant was accidentally checked

The best I can tell is that for CCE Basic DVD compliant forces 720x480. If DVD compliant is off CCE, just gives back whatever you feed it. The half horizontal simply cuts whatever you feed it in half horizontaly, IF DVD compliant is not checked. If CVD compliant is checked half D1 does nothing.
