  1. Hi,

I used DVD2ONE to make a backup of Beauty and the Beast.

It works fine from my hard disk with PowerDVD.

I then use Nero 5.5.10.7 to 1) erase a DVD-RW disk, and 2) burn the DVD with the whole contents of the folder.

After the burn, I try to load the movie in PowerDVD (or my DVD player for that matter), and PowerDVD says "Unsupported Format".

Does PowerDVD support the DVD-RW (as opposed to DVD-R, which of course it does...) ?

How could one explain what's happening to me ? I've made many copies of movies on DVD-R (not -RW), albeit using InstantCopy7, but it all comes down to the same files anyway ?!?!?!

I also tried copying the files from the DVD-RW to the hard disk, and it worked just fine, and I could then play the movie from the hard disk in PowerDVD.

    Thanks for any insight.

I have had this happen with different media, specifically the Verbatim DataLifePlus DVD-RW (#94078). Plays in only the A05 and a Sony DVP-360. Everything else fails to recognize the disks. This doesn't happen with Pioneer 2X DVD-RWs. Try some other disks if you can...

  3. That's weird, because my disk IS a 2x Pioneer DVD-RW.

Hmmm...others have reported problems with Nero with DVDs. You might try other software. Recommends are: Stomp Record Now Max, Gear Pro and Prassi Primo....

    Hmm, odd...

I've been using the same version of Nero with my A05 and the Pioneer 2x DVD-RW that came with it (test running before commiting to DVD-R when I am uncertain of project results).

Following the forum post around here somewhere on burning with Nero I have yet to run into a problem with using that disk in my PC running PowerDVD. The PowerDVD version I am using is the one that shipped with the Lite-On 16x DVD-Rom drive.

I'd recommend trying to digging out that forum post (sorry don't remember where the post is) on burning with Nero

  6. I have 2 Pioneer DVD-RW, one is 1x and another one 2x. I can copy movies onto both of them and they play fine on stand alone DVD players(Toshiba, Marantz, and Panasonics). However, if I play them from the A05 writer, they both(or just the A05) hangs my system. I can never play the RW on the A05.

  7. This is insain I have just had so many problems with this movie, first of I have tried just ripping it with dvd decrypter then using IFO edit and then write to disk, this did not work like it has for so many other movies, I then tried different burning software orginally using nero then went to record now max and still got the same results, the playback was crazy skippy and went from color to black and white -->sketch, found this due to multi angle (possibly), so I figured well lets give DVD2ONE a shot ran it through the program opened the files with powerdvd then felt everything was fine then burned it with RNMax on a DVD-RW using my a-05 burner same results you got plus its un recogonzable with powerdvd.
    Thanks alot,

  9. Is there a VIDEO_TS (all caps) folder on the disc? If you are just burning dvd2one's output it does not create this folder for you. All the output files need to be in this folder, then just burn the folder. Some say you also need an empty AUDIO_TS on the disc for max compatibility, but I never include one. I use Prassi Primo DVD to burn with great success. Nero is known to have problems burning 100% complient discs.

  10. accually I just got it to work I tried to erase the disk with nero but it would always give me error and not complete, I then put it in RNmax and it went smooth then I just copied the VIDEO_TS folder (sorry meant this in my last statement I knew this just was asking about using IFOedit or not) and AUDIO_TS folder and all went smooth, I am watching it as I speak on my sony dvd player.
    Thanks alot,
