Best Scanner for under $100?

Hi, I just purchased my first Scanner ever and it seems like an excellent scanner. It's the Canon Lide 30, and I got it for $99 at Best Buy. This scanner seems to be great.

I just scanned a nice full color photo and it looks INCREDIBLE! I just wanted to know, (and probably should of asked this here BEFORE I bought this scanner) how my scanner rates compared to others. If someone knows of a better one for whaterver reason, then maybe I should check out a different one. This one seems super smooth though but anyone knows more about scanners then me, so that's why I'm asking.

I wouldn't use the scanner much, probably more as a copier for rebate receipts and that type of thing, so I don't need anything fancy.

But If anyone can reccommend an excellent scanner for under $100, please do so I can check it out and possibly return this Canon for that one. Also, if anyone knows anything about this Canon or actually has it, please let me know if it is a good scanner. Thanks in advance

I just got a Visioneer 7100 and its a good scanner. It costs $80 at stores but I got a brand new one off eBay for $54 including shipping. You should get money back for the Lide 30 because now it's selling for $79 at Best Buy. I was looking into getting the Lide but I decided not to because like you I only need to use it ocassionaly. Plus, I researched about the Lide's series and found out that they are very slow but produce a good quality. The Visioneer is fast and the results look great. I'm glad that i didn't get the Lide because I just would've paid more for of its sleek styling. But if you're happy with the Lide 30 then just get your $20 refund.

damn, I'm glad I asked this question. Best Buy did it again huh?...down a week later $20 more. Damn that sucks. They may give me a problem giving me my $20 back, but I'll just return the damn thing and get a refund if they do. Then i'll simply buy the $79 scanner. 8) Thanks for the info

well..I QUICKLY took care of business AS USUAL and returned my Scanner for a FULL REFUND on a Gift Card. Then I proceeded to hunt down the SAME EXACT Canon Lide30 for my "new" price of $79. I decided I needed a few things so I got two HUGE cans of compressed air on sale for $12.99 which came with a "bonus" static free dust wipe. Then I purchased some good 18 gauge speaker wire, FIFTY FEET worth for $7.99. When It was all said and done it was a BREAK EVEN DEAL..hahaaa.....Great Heads up herculesCa....good lookin' out!

I also saw my HP 7350 is now on sale from $199 to $179, and Best Buy is offering a $35 gift card when buying one of these bad boys. This printer is the BEST printer I have every personally used and damn near prints like a laser jet. Being that I got it about five months ago, I gotta devise I method to get this $35 Best Buy Gift Card and $20 difference.
