Hello, I'm trying to get a file converted from avi 2 mpeg2. I need to open it in Vdub to edit it. But when I try to open it in vdub I get this error:
![]()
The file plays in Win Media Player great but no other apps want to open it.
Not Premiere
Not TMPEG
Not Vdub
Not Afx
not nothing except WMP
So a friend suggested I use GSPOT to determine if the file really was an avi.
I opened it with gspot and got this info:
Video Format: BI_JPEG JPEG compressed
Codec not installed
Audio Format: ogg_vorbis_1 (0x674f) Ogg Vorbis
Codec not installed
Stream type:application/x-ogg
DirectShow Render:
Splitter: OGG Splitter
Video Media:4cc: DIV3 Video Codec: DivXAntiFreeze --> DivX Decoder Filter
Audio Media: {CDDCA2D5-6D75-4F98-840E-737BEDD5C63B} Audio Codec: Vorbis Decoder-->Morgan Stream Switcher
Status: File Rendered Sucessfully!
What does this mean!?
The file doesn't have the right codecs installed, but still renders sucessfully? And isn't BI_JPEG a still image format?
Can anybody please help me out?
Thanks
