  1. Dear friends,

I´d like to buy some US DVDs and convert them into Divx or VCDs. But I´d love to make portuguese subtitles to my videos. Is there anything I could make to read the DVD subtitles and translate it to Portuguese in my VCDs or Divx movies ?
I need to know that, because I didn´t buy my DVD-Rom yet.

    Thanx a LOT :P

well the answer to your question is yes, ripping dvd´s to your pc im not in to but i know there is programs to do soo, you just have to check some guides here and download the programs.

Adding subtitels to your ripped movies you can do with lot of programs, im using a program called "subsync"...easy to use and not that hard to understand. this is not a program for adding the subtitel it just checking that the text is coming when it should.
Adding the subtitel im getting to lower down.

Gettting subtitels..ther´s alot of pages out there who have subtitels like http://dvd.box.sk/ or like http://www.subtitles.cz/en/ if you cant find the title with your language...you have do get a translator program who helps you put in the text in your language..like Subtitles Translator - 1.64.

To add the subtitel on your movie you have to use different kind of programs, myself im using virutaldub and Tmpge 2.55 plus...you have to do some reading to understand how to....but as you only asked if you could do this im only giving you this responce.
    hope this covered your question

well that was nothing, thats why this forum is for, to get help from people who knows a bit more about this things.
I think you will do just fine if you stick to ripping original dvd cd´s, the problem starts when you trying to download movies from internet.... theres alot of broken movies out on the internet.

Im pretty new to this to....just started a month ago with trying to burn and add subtiles on my downloaded movies.
But we just have to keep reading to understand more of this djungle of how to make movies
    best regards
    your swedish friend
