i want to be able to capture some footage off of my Playstation 2, make a video, and put it on the web so what would i need to do that. i understand i need a capture card but i have no idea of what to look for, someone recommended a Matrox RT.X10 and it seems good but i have no knowledge whatsoever about Videocards i wouldn't know how to install it or undertsand it for that matter. i just want a capture card so i can hook up my Playstation 2 and capture some footage and put it on the web. i need one around the $600.00 or lower price range that is compatible with Windows XP, and is easy to install and understand.

a capture card shouldn't be anywhere near $600. i just got a ati tv wonder ve for $40. installing it is not hard at all. i took the advice of some people on here and installed the Bt8xx (or something like that) drivers instead of the ati ones. BIG MISTAKE. every channel was messed up. some were all static. plus to see channel 10 i had to set the tuner to channel 11. channel 77 to 78. but channel 32 i had to set to 34. that was weird. i uninstalled those and installed the ati winxp drivers off their website and it worked perfect. i use powervcr ii to capture (captures directly to mpeg2) and they always come out great.

  3. For web video, I would go with a cheap $50 TV tuner capture card. For high quality DVD video captures, go with an "analog to DV video" converter card or box.
