WAV and MP2 Help!

Is it possible to convert a video files audio from MPEG layer 3( Is what it says in properties) to WAV or MP2? If so, what software does it?

1) Open video in Virtual Dub (http://www.virtualdub.org it's freeware)

2) Under audio choose 'direct stream copy'

3) Under fil choose "make wav"

4) Once you've got the wav file you can encode to mp2, ac3, etc. as normal.
