Can you give more information?
AD421: i tried frameserving with vdub too but it gives me an audio sync problem -
You can usually get over this problem by separating and processing the audio on its own, then joining (mutiplexing) the two after encoding.

You didn't say if you're encoding to SVCD or DVD (it makes a difference). SVCD has a DAR of 4:3. DVDs can have DARs of 4:3, 16:9 (rare) or be apomorphic (most common). Most newer DVDs are apomorphic, the video stream is encoded in the correct aspect ratio, then flagged.
You're DVD player reads this flag then adjusts the video on the fly as needed. If you have a standard tv, and the DVD is flaged 16:9 then it is letter boxed on the fly by the DVD player.
Now older DVDs often were letter boxed. That is the black bars were encoded as part of the MPEG video. These discs have a DAR of 4:3. However some groups still called this discs 'widescreen, letterboxed, special ed, etc' The key is NOT apomorphic.
Hope that helps. Tell us if you want to make a SVCD or DVD, and the source material and we can tell you more from there. -
this sorta has to do with a problem i posted about a few days ago, I am trying to encode to dvd video from an mpeg-1 file i captured from my tv card. I use virtual dub to cut the commercials and frameserve it, but the picture is tiny, its in an .mpv file format with no sound. any ideas?
