I have a type 2 DV avi file that I want to extract the audio from to clean it up. I 've read that you can use VirtualDub, but I'm running XP and I get the error "couldn't locate decompressor for format 'dvsd'" when I try to load the file. Is there a fix for this or another program that could be used to extract it?

    Thanks.

  2. You need to install a DV codec. For example, the Panasonic DV codec.
