I have for a while stayed away from cam releases of movies as the source often left much to be desired. However i have a few good movies which i would like to achieve the best quality from. To begin with it is a 2 disc svcd, both around 800mb, i am converting this to squeeze it onto one disc. I have already tried to do this, and my method worked well as quality was well preserved. I do not really have any good knowledge of filters, the block noise after encoding is minimal. However, like most cam releases, the actual picture is dark, with a white glare in front of it. What is the best way to attempt to filter any of this, i could imagine doing a simple colour correction in tmpgenc, but i do not know which settings to use approximately. Has anyone succesfully removed some of the glare?? I know for final product crap in=crap out, i am not trying to get a glistening dvd quality out of it, but just trying to reduce the movie theater look. Any input at all is appreciated in advance.
