I can't quite figure this one out.
Earlier today, I was able to capture video via Premiere 6.5 and my Sony DV camcorder. However, I noticed there were some audio dropouts.
I decided to recapture again just to make sure the dropouts were not on the source tape.
While attempting to capture again, Premiere gave me the following error message: "the capture device is not available" and would abort the capture.
I also tried using Pinnacle Studio 7 and got a very generic "capture error" message and it would also abort the capture.
I am, however, able to control the camcorder functions via the two applications.
It appears that something fundamental went wrong with the "capture device", whatever that may be.
Does anyone know of a way to fix this?

Another observation I made is that even though I can control the camcorder's functions via the two applications, when I press PLAY I do not see the video being played in the preview screens on my PC's monitor; I only see it on the LCD display of the camcorder.
