I have a .mpg file that I recorded with ReplayTV. I moved it to my MAC with MacReplayTV and I split it into 2 .mpg so that I can put it on 2 DVD-R's.

I normally use VCDToolsX when I make SVCDs from .MPG's and I have used Sizzle before but I don't know what to do with these 2 .MPGs.

I want to make a DVD.

  2. Doesn't Ross have a tool for this? Check out his site; it's linked on the main page.

  3. As a matter of fact, I just uploaded MacReplayTV version 0.6.3
Fixes a bug (theFlag error), typo in the code and more features to mpeg editor.

    Ross,

I am not sure how to use the software. I recorded "Married By America" the other night. It is 2 hours at the highest possible quality. I moved it to the Mac with DVArchive and I used your software to try and make it into a DVD. What I end up with is a huge 5.0Gig+ .mpg file and a .aif file.

I was expecting a .IMG file or at least the VIDEO_TS AUDIO_TS thing. Am I doing something wrong ?

    Ross,

I downloaded the new version. I now get what I expected which is the .IMG file and the AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS folders. But in the VIDEO_TS folder I have a .BUP, 2 .IFO's and one .VOB. But they are all zero length files.

I did not choose to re-encode because I did record on the highest quality which you have told me to do before.

Am I doing something wrong ?

I see "Segmentation Fault" in the terminal window.

  6. From what I've seen the "Segmentation Fault" is most often caused by the mpeg not being muxed as dvd.

In the Transcode to DVD mode without Re-encode, MacReplayTV does not alter the mpeg file(s), It assumes a valid dvd type mpeg with mp2 audio.
All sample Replay files I tested, meet this requirement.

You may try the Segment Large Mpeg option set to remux at 9999. This will insure a dvd mux type without splitting the file.

However, it looks like you are going to have problems anyway with a 5 gig + source mpeg. In this case I would use the Re-encode check box, with QT set at a somewhat lower bit rate. Or use the Editor to trim and encode.

Ross that didn't work. It started Demuxing the file because I saw the .m2v file, then I got an error that said that the .m2v was unrecognizable. I ended up with no files.

The original .mpg file is 4.76 G. It is "Married By America" and was 2 hours long. I recorded it on maximum quality.

    ?
