I tired to open up a DivX film in Virtualdub 1.5.1 and it popped up an error and then the error disappeared, in a matter of 0.5 of a second, so I can't see the error. Do you think it's a problem with the film or just that Virtualdub can't handle DivX films?

If you have DivX codecs, then you should be able to handle DivX movies. Have you loaded all your codecs?

This is the error I am getting when accessing the Divx file I am trying to convert.

I have downloaded a VFW codec which I installed and I am not sure if I gotta configure with Virtualdub, and after installing it, it did nothing to correct the problem.

Update, I tried a smaller DivX and it's come up straight away, so I am thinking it's the film. If it is can it be repaired?

You still need to verify you have the right codecs. I see no reason to go on until you do.

  10. oh...using Nimo codec build 8......I think taking a hammer to your PC would work better.

    Use only the following

    Divx Pro 5.03

    Xvid codec Koepi (stable version).

Nimo looks nice....but it crashes everything....with build 8 being the best at crashing.

Yes, stay clear of Nimo, and especially build 8. I was on the verge of reformatting, as suddenly nothing worked after install (WMP, TMPGEnc, VDub...). For each AVI that wont work, use gSpot to tell you what codecs are needed. Then locate and install these and only these.

Weird, I uninstalled Nimo Build 8 and installed DivX pro 5.0.3 full and it's loaded up perfectly, thanks guy's it seems Nimo doesn't have what it takes.

Wierd, yes! I always recommended a codec pack in cases like this before, but after my experience with Nimo 8, I strongly discourage these codec packs!
