    Hi all,

I'm trying to convert a .mpg file to DivX using Virtual dub, 63806 frames out of the 85027 were processed and then an error came up as follows:

‘MPEG - decode error: not enough data to decode frame.'
How do I fix this MPEG? I have searched in the forum for answers to this problem and have found the following post to a similar problem.

1 Use TMPEnc to demux the audio"
2 Use a decoder to decode to WAV"
3 Use the WAV as input to virtualdub"

Ok, I understand No. 1) how to Demux in TMPEnc. The resulting audio file has been converted to a Mp2, is that correct?

    2) How do I decode to a WAV? with what software?

Then I need to use the WAV as input to virtualdub. Not sure how to do this. Don't I need to DeMux again?

Is there a more detailed guide as to how to do this?

Your help would be appreciated greatly appreciated.

    Hey Ellebear,

I have a possible solution. I had somewhat the same problem. What I mean is that the same error message: ‘MPEG - decode error: not enough data to decode frame.' came up for me. What I was trying to do was convert the audio from an mpg file to wav. Like u, I look on the forum and didn't find anything that helped. So I converted the mpg to mpg using TMPGEnc. U know, so it'll fit on a VCD. So then I took the converted file and used VirtualDub to extract the audio and what do u know... it worked. I had absolutely no problem.
I hope this helps. Please tell me if it does or not. Write me:
    DiscoverPlatinum@hotmail.com.

or I'll keep checking the forum to see if u posted that it worked or not.
