1) Start DVDDecrypter, Mode ISO, Read
Point then program to your dvd reader.
Number of Layers: 1 or 2
If it's 1 then you can do 1:1 backup
2) All movies are proteted with CSS. When ripping movie to HDD
with DVDDecrypter this protection is automatically removed and
it's made region free. -
DVDDecrypter is this the best programme for this someone told me there was a programme called decass or something like that is it better or what

"DeCSS" is the code that allows you to unlock and remove the CSS (Content Scrambling System) from your disc.
Any ripping tool implements DeCSS, otherwise you'd have a big, unplayable piece of data on your harddrive instead of an .iso or your .vobs & .ifo files.
DVD Decrypter is pretty sweet - the fact that you can take a dvd-5 and rip it to an .iso, then burn it directly from DVD Decrypter and have an exact copy is amazing to me.
And it shows you much more information about the disc and data than, say, SmartRipper.
Personally, I think it's right up there with Virtualdub on the list of "Amazing Freeware Programs".
