  1. I finally found the best possible way to make a VCD from DVD.
After 2 years of making them I discovered that a combination of the right settings using DVD2AVI and TMPEGenc.

    Use the following.
I use cladDVD 1.70 to rip the movie files only from the DVD.
Then I open DVD2AVI and use the following settings
Video: iDCT Algorithm - IEEE-1180 reference
    Field Operation - Forced Film
    Color Space - YUV
YUV > RGB - TV Scale

    Audio: Track Number - 1
    Channel Format - Dolby Digital
    Dolby Digital - Decode

    Then save project.

Open up project .dv file with TMPEGenc.
I use a VBR at 29.97 NTSC 16:9 Aspect and it comes out
    perfect.

Does any body else use this?

I always rip my DVD's to VCD with Dolby Surround instead of Dolby Digital. This gives better sound because Dolby Surround can be stored using VCD, and Dolby Digital cannot.
Dolby Digital is converted to stereo, without the 3D effects.
