Is this a known problem with Apex models when playing DVDs. I have it hooked up through coaxial(digital sound). I played "Family Man", "Toy Story 2", and "Bug's Life". The audio kept going out on the DVDs. It even went out when using the Hi-Val DVDROM. Very strange

  2. I had the same problem. I had audio problems with dvd and vcd. I got my 500w at wal-mart. I took it back and payed an extra $30 for a sanyo. I have no problems with anything anymore. Stay away from apex.

  4. I recently bought an Apex AD-1500.. never would recognize
any disks.. DVD or otherwise. Took it back, the next
Apex 1500 had a garbled display, took that back, They
only had the floor model left and it didnt work either!!
Got my money back (I feel I had more than enough of Apex)

    LOL

I went and purchased the Sanyo DWM-370 and have never
been happier. It outperforms my Pioneer and plays everything
I have stuck in it. Price at Walmart was 130.00

    Sanyo is a great player!
