Hi everyone, i know this a total noobee question, but it is starting to puzzle me!
My System:
AMD XP 2200+
A7V8X MB
256Megs DDR400 RAM
40Gig HD IBM 7200RPM
WinXP
(i know the other specs but they are not so relavant are they?)
I use DVD2SVCD and CCE v2.50. I have heard that with a modern system it is possible to encode faster than real time with CCE. i consider my system to be reasonably fast, and so i would have thought that i could get close to many ppl, and yet my encoding speed with CCE is usually about 1.037, meaning that many movies take up to 9 hours just to encode! Is this about right, or should my speed be greater?? i know CCE is much faster than TMPG.
Btw, i am using standard DVD2SVCD templates eg in the misc section, go to load and load up DVD2SVCDs SVCD template. i change nothing having done that so i use 4 passes, from a UK Pal source
Does this seem about correct n e one??? cheers!!!!

a little over 1 sounds about right to me for the system you have. It's about what I get with a similar machine.
