Does it matter what program you use to capture video? For instance, is there a difference in video quality when captuing with vitualdub versus capturing with Adobe premier, or something else?
Say I capture a tv show and burn it to a DVD and later I decide I want to edit out the commercials. If I capture video off the DVD I burned and edit it, when I burn it onto a new DVD will the quality be worse?
Sorry of these questions have been asked before. I tried searching through the message boards but there's so much.

You will need to use a program that can cut VOB files without re-encoding or one that can demux the vobs and remux as standard Mpeg2 program stream, then cut with an mpeg cutter. This task will be made easier by using MP2 audio or even perhaps WAV, I'm not sure how easy it will be to slice VOBS with AC3 audio. I'm sure this has been discussed here before, maybe a search will bring something up.
