  1. lately when i have used nero to create a vcd from a divx file the audio is slightly out of sync. I know i can use tmpege to convert the divx to mpeg first but it takes so long, somewhere around 4 hours for each half of the movie wheras nero only takes about an hour for each half. Is there another way around this problem.

    No. You could use CCE as encoder (much faster than TMPGEnc). There's not much to do with Nero besides pray that it will work. Nero is primarily a CD writing application with some VCD creation capabilities thrown in. To handle DivX/AVIs with strange encodings or other anomalies, there's no way around using specialized apps like VirtualDub, TMPGEnc, VCDEasy.
