Got the Sony DRU 500AX today have not tried it yet as it did not fit in my pc because of large dvd tray and my case having a plastic moulded front took me 3 hours to get it to fit . the firmware is 2.0c is this normal the build date on the drive is january 2003
Some questions
1 is this firmware normal and the latest
2 does the drive write automatically to whatever media you put in(dvd-r dvd+r)
3 this came with it which should i use
RECORDNOW DX
DLA
SIMPLE BACKUP
MUSICMATCH JUKEBOX
MYDVD
POWERDVD
Normally i use windvd
normally i use winamp
so that would rule out musicmatch jukebox and power dvd
what about the rest
i also have prassi primo 2 is it better than recordnow dx or would the retail recordnow max be better still
i know this is a lot of questions but if i ask them all over the place i wont find them so feel free to answer any or all if your an expert
thanks

I wouldn't use any of it except maybe PowerDVD. What you have is better.
