    What is the fastest way to convert DVD format to Mpeg-2? Any suggession is good starting point for me. Thank you.

    Get any DVD ripping program (eg. smartripper or DVD decryptor, for this I like smartripper better). Then demux to generate a m2v file:

    1) Load DVD in drive
    2) Run smartripper
    3) Choose the movie/video of interest
    4) Click on stream processes
    5) Click 'enable streaming processes'
    6) Choose the video file, and then choose 'demux to extra file'

    If desired do the same for any audio tracks or subtitle streams. Not that you have to select demux for EACH STREAM! It's really pretty simple once you have everything open in front of you. Luck...
