I used Premiere to Capture and Exported for DVD. I have the .m2v and the .wav files now.

Was wondering the best way/program to add chapters to the DVD now.

I have Premiere and DVDMaestro v2.9.

Is there something else I should look into?

Any thoughts/help/best methods would be appreciated.

    Thanks

  2. Most would consider Maestro to be the 2nd best authoring program out there (Sceneartist is the best but very expensive and hard to use). I would just stick with it.

You might to want to take a look @ Dazzle DVD Complete if you are new to the process and don't have a arm and a leg to spend. Program is under $100.00 US and fairly user friendly with motion menus and thumbnails also allows you to add your own background music and has a very good label making internal option [including super case inserts]. They have also released the script now so allows you to customize more easily. For the price it makes a very good entry level options.

Thanks All! I see Ulead DVD Workshop and Moviemaker are popular as well.

I just starting playing with Maestro and I kind of like it. A bit to learn though. Anyone know of any good guides for Maestro?

Do you all recommmend using one program to do all or, as I do, to use Premiere to capture and export and then add menu and chapters in antoher program such as Maestro.

All thoughts are great and appreciated.

  5. Since you have DVDMaestro then you have an excellent program for creating chapters in you DVD compilation. You can set the chapter points and extract a bitmap to create a "thumbnail" menu of your chapter points.

However a much easier program to do the aforementioned with quicker results is DVD Architect over at Sonic Foundry.

Thanks damnim, Maestro seems pretty cool. Just really started playing with it. I brought in my .m2v and .wav file and started messing with setting up chapters. Not too bad I guess.

Does anyone know of any guides or "walkthroughs" for using Maestro?

    Thanks :P :P

Are you using Premiere 6.5 ? If so, that comes with a Sonic DVD authoring program that will do your chapters and menus.

I find Maestro excellent for muxing DVD Rips and importing chapters but for general home DVD authoring it is 'too professional' in that you need to manually produce all your menu's and thumbnails etc. Ulead DVD Moviefactory or Workshop, etc takes all this pain away!

  9. Lots of people seem to have Maestro but don't know how to use it. A search of these forums gives an amazing amout of results.

I searched and found the following links to guides.

Also, I found the Maestro Help file to be quite helpful.

Actually, you can get some really good help on the yahoo dvdmaestro group. They can even point you to the 688 page pdf manual and help Files, last I looked.
